Pioneer DV-636d problem......

I have a Pioneer DV-636D, and i have problem to play VCD and photo cd. I make my cd in Winoncd 3.8, i can play them but they stay and play and stay.......do they have problems to read cd-r???.

You may find that the DVD player is automatically bringing up the PBC ( playback control ) function ( it should display this on screen of player or TV, which is essentially for karaoke. This ensures the first track is repeated. To fix this when you put VCD in, select track ONE manually and this should be OK

I have exactly the same problems with playing VCD's on my Pioneer. A friend bought me some films from Malaysia and they play fine on their machine but on my Pioneer DV 636d it does exactly that, plays for a few seconds, then it seems like it's searching then plays for a few seconds etc...

I do hope someone can help because it's driving me crazy.

i've the same problem, the pioneer dv-636d plays my vcd as a cd and there is no sound and the time counter goes a lot faster than a second a time...

i used nero 5.5.9.17

I have a Pioneer DV-636D and it plays everything ok.

I suspect that the problem here is that you all don't know how to operate the units correctly. Give the remote to your wife or girlfriends and they'll make it operate better than you lot of dummies!
