Where can I buy a SMALL dehumidifier? (Misc.: Household)greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
I need a small dehumidifier for a small room - about 9' x 9'.The smallest I have found on the internet is 15 pints.
Are any made smaller than this?
I have looked locally and can only find the smallest at 30 pints.

how about a vaporizer?? I bought one at wally world,, only 2 quarts,, and it has a temp setting so on low with the fan,, it blows moist air only. A natural solution would be a few large plants, they breath also and give off moisture.

Thank you for your reply, but I need a DEhumidifier, not a humidifier. There is plenty of moisture in the air already. :)

I posted a question about this last fall. Our basement storage room has excess humidity in the summer. I was looking for a non-electric means of dehumidifying. The responses I got suggested a product called Damp Rid, calcium chloride, and activated charcoal, all of which you can get at Wal-mart in the household product dept., except the activated charcoal wich is in the fish/pet dept.

I would go with the DampRid and there are other equivalents out there.

R., forgive us poor Michiganders, dehumidifiers are a foreign concept for us except in basements as, especially in the winter, we are stuggling to put moisture into the air or else we are walking shock machines!!!
