Metal Roofs

Can someone explain how metal roofs are used on round buildings? Do you have to cut the panels yourself or would they come custom cut or what? They obviously have to be more narrow at the center of the roof and wider at the outer edges, but how is that achieved?

JC metal roofs and round buildings do not go well together. Not that it can't be done but it's very expensive and can be troublesome putting together. It's very labor intensive as well which adds to the cost if your not installing yourself. If your talking about a standing seam system the roof panels would be precut to tapering dimensions based on measurements supplied to fabricator. If they aren't exact this is where your troubles will begin and not end.

I'm not sure if corrugated panels can be purchased this way or not but no matter what system you choose you'll be paying through the nose for this custom work.

Speaking of metal roofs: Can metal roofs be put over shingles or do the shingles have to be taken off first.
