Tribute To Mom

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unk's Wild Wild West : One Thread

This is a song I wrote about 5 years ago,it was a Christmas gift to my mom.I promised myself I would post it as sort of a tribute to one helluva great person,my mom,Jo Ann.

I'm pitching this song in Nashville,so who knows, maybe one day you'll get to hear it too.I hope the format works.

Momas’ Many Blessin’s

I'm sure alone in this new town

but it’s got me workin hard

to relay the thoughts I’m thinkin

I thougt I’d send a card.

But the more I got to writin

I knew what I would do

there were things that could’t wait

So I got on the phone to you.

Moma your blessins

have made me what I am

all those hard kearned lessons

taught me how to stand.

It’s a debt I can’t repay

for such a prized possession

a list too long to name

of momas many blessins.

I remember all those meals

were allways made with care

and everytime I skinned my knees

your healin hands were there.

You taght me what love is

showed me wrong fron right

taught me things worth livin for

are surely worth the fight.

You gave me the wisdom

to go out on my own

and and the more I live I see

Iv’e reaped the seeds youv’e sown.

I just wanted you to know

before one of us is gone

I’m proud to be your son

I’m so glad that your my mom.

Moma your many blessins

have made me what I am

all those hard learned lessons

taught me how to stand.

Its a debt I cant repay

a love I’ll never question

no I could never count

all of momas many blessins

and I thank the Lord

for momas many blessins.

Capn,

Such a beautiful song. She must have been one heck of a mother to inspire you to write such a song. My hopes that I can be a fraction of the mother to my son as your mother was to you. She indeed must have been one special lady, she raised you.

Love Ya,

Sheeple

Thank you for sharing that with us capn. You were blessed indeed, to have had such a wonderful, loving relationship. (pass the Kleenex, will ya?)

(passing the Kleenex)

Very nice, Capn! You're blessed to have that outlet. Some of us can't write well enough from the heart to produce anywhere near so great a tribute. It's an inspired gift.
