I'm considering to acquire an old Yashica Electro 35/ Electro 35 GSN, but am concerned about the availability of the batteries. What kind of batteries are needed for these 2 cameras and are they readily available? If not, are there any further suggestion (eg. substitution)?

There is a good thread on this subject on the web - try searching on Google. Bottom line is to go to Radio Shack - they make a replacement battery that works fine for me. They had to special order it, though, and, as I remember, it cost $14-$15. Hope this helps.
