greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

When the junkyard teams had there own room not just the wall separating them how did they get the machines out that were to big to fit out of the entrance.

Have any of the challanges not been aired because they werent interesting enough or didnt finish.

I would assume that the walls are pinned together like horse stables. When they need to be moved, the pins are pulled on one side and the wall can be swung out like a big door.

The answers to your questions are a crane, and no.

Some of the machines are picked out whole by the crane, and some, like our cannon that could not be picked up all at once without breaking some part of it, are disassembled to be picked out by crane and loaded on a truck and reassembled at the competetion site. The cannon was concidered a weapon in G Britan, and had to be disassembled to transport it on the road for legal reasons as well. The next group of shows will be filmed in California on a new set, which may have bigger doors, allowing the machines to be fork lifted on to a truck if they think about building the set that way.
