If I can explain this right. First you take two axles, one in front, one in back, both can steer depending on how they arrange the course. both axles will need brakes, this machine can't be powered by the wheels. the machine is powered by the expanding movments of the machine, and the braking. The simplest way I can think of to explane it is think of a frame ten foot long, and in the middle it hinges. lock one brake and with hydraulics,"rams" "air rams" pull the frame together. then lock the other brake and lower the frame. movment.This can be done several ways,front rear locking axles, vs side to side locking axles, side expansion, verses vertical, and a few more I have thought of. it could be done in ten hours and would be interesting.

An inch-worm machine? Wierd but cool idea. I already have two ideas about how to make that work without hydraulics. One with a capistan, and the other with a crank and linkage. It would be a rough ride any way you do it.
