I regret that in 1943 I had not shown my mother the depth of my love for her before a blod clot took her away at the age of 40, before she could hold in her arms the grandchild she knew was on the way. I regret that I wasn't the person I knew I should have been.

Much like Denver Doug, I regret that I didn't better express how much I loved my mom. She died 4 years ago and everyday I think about all the years I had with her and how I could have expressed myself better in those years.

Not staying with my son at the hospital the night before he died. How I regret that and will never ever understand why I didn't. Why didn't someone tell me he looked worse. I couldn't see it. He'd been worse so many times before, to the point even the doctors didn't feel he'd leave the hospital. Each time he'd prove them wrong. But this time Aids finally won but not before he put up one hell of a fight. Right to the very end he kicked AIDS in the you know what. He never gave in and even with his last breath he went out a fighter. Aids didn't win cause Aids didn't take him home....God did. He saw how tired my son was and he knew he'd never give up the fight on his own, so God wrapped his arms around him and ended his fight for him.
