Last week,I think,it was announced in the UK that the sources of meat for processed meat products such as German & Italian sausages, pates etc imported into Uk were not subject to CJD regs. In other words Health Inspectors can check on imports of solid meat but not on cases of frankfurters.Scary!

So check the country of origin if you are fond of this stuff.Buy American.Same goes for meat pies !!
