Worst Regret? What are you sorry for?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unk's Wild Wild West : One Thread

I have been a bully in my first 20 years. Not later.

I'm 40 now. I know better, BUTTTTTTT, I know what I did.

Kind of like a fat person.

Eat more, feel less.

Sorry.

Not only not taking advantage of my gifts, but consciously destroying them at an early age. To put it another way, I took careful aim and spit in God's eye. I thought I heard Him say, "One pillar of salt for the boy from NJ." Must be on backorder. JIT delivery isn't in the Bible, doncha know. :)

sumer, dear, the problem with bags is that you can't set them down when you need to type. Have a bucket instead, extra large. I have plenty. :)

...and a cleaning woman, and a hose...

After speaking at a NYC Transit Authority Hearing, I didn't accept an invitation to speak at a four-day United Nations Symposium on the environment.

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on; nor all your Piety nor Wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.

-- The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam

We must learn and grow from our mistakes without getting sucked into unending, corrosive regret. One of my bigger regrets is having spent too much time in regret.

I haven't lived my entire life yet...I'll get back to you on this one...

I regret sleeping through my college lit courses. I could've learned neat stuff, like "The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam" quoted above. I wasn't interested in reading fiction, unless there were dirty parts in it. I'd read those.

How DID we know? *wink* smile.

I do like what Lars said tho. We cant live in the past and wouldnt it be nice to have written on the ol tombstone :NO REGRETS. ?

This is easy!

Not divorcing my first wife soon enough. Was unhappy as hell for several years while she was running up $41,000 in credit card debt.

Yall get ONE guess as to who had to pay that debt off.......

Regrets? Sure. My life has not gone in straight lines (where do I start?) Bottom line is I can go on suffering the fallout of bad choices, or learn from them - I'm really getting good at this. (Lots of practice!)

My only regret is that life is too short. Give me about five hundred more years and I'll have my act pretty well together!
