Need help finding a book

I have just started to develop and print my own black and white films and photos and found this web site just by chance, I read somewhere someone refering to a darkroom bible book but can't find the authors name? also any other good books I should read?

I totally agree with John.

I think other than the books mentioned above, it depends on where your interests take you. There are, of course, zillions of good books.

They might have been referring to Steve Anchell's DARKROOM COOKBOOK.

The only book I would consider a "bible" for photography is the Photo Lab Index published by Morgan & Morgan.

It's 1500 pages, offers updates by subscription, and costs $125 US.

It's probably not a good place to start. Too much info in the beginning.

Louise, I can suggest two to start: 1-The Photographer's Master Printing Course, by Tim Rudman and 2-Basic Photographic Materials and Processes, by Stroebel, Zakya, etc. The first will take you from the beginning as far as you can get and the later will give you enough information on photography for some years of travel.
