Newspaper Delivery System

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

You know the cliche of the 10 yr old racing down the street flinging newspapers at doorsteps? Why not make it a junkyard wars challenge:

The Newspaper Delivery Challenge

Teams must make a machine that will deliver newspapers accurately & quickly. They could take the teams down to a straight row of townhouses, and see how many newspapers they can deposit(fling, catapult, etc.) on doorsteps on bothsides of the road in two minutes, all team members must be in contact with the machine at all times. Who knows, they may actually invent something useful for a change. Maybe they could bring in a few 10yr olds to operate the machinery? This could be quite enjoyable.

Of course you don't, Farhan. Paul's showing his age here. I have a 1957 Schwinn Wasp Newsboy Special hanging up in my garage- And that shows my age as well. A mobile paper chucker? What a Grand Idea! but of course, the papers would have to be delivered to the teams FLAT- Make 'em fold every one of them and band them first! Extra points if you get it on the roof! What fun!
