I would like to see the teams be able to have more design creativity. A contest like seeing which team could build an earth moving machine, regardless of design... The team which builds the best "digger" would win... what do you think?

define the standards that would define "best" digger. would it be based on appearance,funcionality,actual work accomplished as a predescribed goal??? ive submitted a similar idea in the past, which would require a machine to load what it dug up from the ground, with the actual work being accomplished from the control area of the machine(not like the hay that was harvested by hand!) this idea is a workable idea

basement sized hole in the ground. Use laser level to check grade of bottom of hole. use string to guage size of hole. One team builds dozer other Backhoe? Maybe too much for ten hours. Ditch maybe?
