Pg&E Reports Power Outages in Marin, But No Blackouts

By KPIX - BCN

Pacific Gas & Electric reports today that rolling blackouts have not been ordered by state energy officials, but power outages in Marin county have been reported due to weather-related accidents.

Spokesman Lloyd Coker said more than 6,000 customers in San Rafael, Sausalito and Corte Madera had their power knocked out today by several accidents that occurred between noon and 1:30 p.m.

He said those customers were still without power at about 4 p.m., but crews were at the scene working to fix everything. Coker said the California Independent System Operator has not warned the utility company about any rolling blackouts this afternoon or tonight.

However, he said the state is still in a Stage Three Emergency and the possibility of blackouts is always present when the state's reserves run that low.
