It's been a while since I was investigating the Sigma flash but one thing that I *did* want that I was surprised to find out was that although the Sigma did tilt... it doesn't swivel!! (I'm sure I'm remembering correctly... but please correct me if I'm wrong!) For sure it's more powerful, but I believe it doesn't do E-TTL, and I think the wireless was only with Minolta and the Sigma cameras. The new 420 (or is that 430?) ex from Canon would probably be a better bet. D.B.

I will try to clear this up. The Sigma 430Super DOES support TTL on a canon Elan II/IIe. I have it, and it works, and let me say, everytime. The flash does tilt, but does not swivel. The flash will support wireless TTL with multiple units, but here is how it works. You must have one 430 as a transmitter/strobe on camera or corded to it via the one canon off camera shoe cords. From there, that strobe unit will talk to up to two additional 430s sending and receiving information about TTL. THus, with the strobes in manual mode, you get a ratioed studio lighting setup. Or with E-TTL and Flash exposure comepensation you get TTL metered flash with ratio capability. Its a great flash. I love mine, and the best part is you can buy two of them for the price of one 550EX (with comparable features). Hope this helps

I'm sorry, I left out an "E" in my last message. The 430 flash supports E-TTL with the Elan IIs. Sorry about that
