Can you build helicopters for a challange in junkyard wars?

I think it's possible if the show was moved to a different junk yard, say--an aircraft bone yard. I have built and flown RC helicopters. I think they would consider it a little un-safe from a liability stand point. Besides, you would have to start with a fairly complete vehicle, be good with rivets, a heliarc and 20 hours or more to build. An then--maybe.

helicopters are nice but are very complicated machines to control and operated not to mention all the parts which are needed and some of these pieces must be persionly made (i should know my dad worked on helicopters for 8 years) but you could make something like that called a gyro copter. you can have a powered or none powered. all it uses is a pusher propeller. as it gains speed the propellers spin faster and you got lift.

But an autogyro wouldn't be so complicated. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that it would be possible with an expert.
