George still really sucks

George still sucks. The teams are doing great, but the show has really taken a major downturn without Robert.

I agree 100%. George Gray is terrible. I much prefer Robert. Part of the appeal of the show was watching wacky Brits - hosts and teams. I'm really losing interest. Plus I just don't like George.

Since TLC started Americanizing the show, it has taken a huge downturn, and with the 2001 season being filmed in Cali, I figure I will have to move back to the UK just to catch my fill of Scrapheap Challenge!

A real shame - it was such a good show, but TLC had to go ahead and tinker with a winning format! You don't see Food Network taping Iron Chef episodes in San Fran - so why JYW in Cali????

I agree totally. That new guy ruins the show. Granted, he is trying his best. You just can't beat the original guy (who I refer to as "Dirty Regis").

bring Dirty Regis back!!!

George huffs and puffs and barely manages to exude the faux enthusiasm of an infomercial host. He obviously knows nothing about anything and is not too bright. And he is ugly too. He spoils the show for me. Zillions of people want to be on TV. Even a low-budget show such as "Junkyard Wars" should be able to find someone much better. Can him!

Am I the only one w/ a serious George (GEO) addiction? Granted the show was WAY better as a Brit thang, but that's not entirely Geo's fault. I mean, we Americanos pretty much screw up everything we take over. I am totally obsessed w/ George. I feel like I should apologize. My husband hates him. He hates the American teams too. I think it's still a great show, the concept is still the same... I guess American women need "eye-candy". Just my opinion, although I'm Welsh! THX Trinity

No, he doesn't.

And the American version of the show is just as good as the British one.

Hope this helps.

this george guy is probably not that bad of a host but he tries to be to redneck american and comes off ans stupid the old host was better.... but at least we still have the hot female host with that crazy accent

the only thing that is really getting to me is all you people whining abou't george and how much better the britt version is!!!!!!! the american version is just as entertaining and i don't care if the teams are american or britt. or martians as long as they are good. george is doing his job, if the producers diden't think he was he'd be gone. i do wish they would talk less and show more of the actual building process. now please, please, please either get behind the show with some constructive ideas or tune in to some gilligan's island reruns and quite cluttering up the discussion group.
