Need plans for masonry wood stove

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I read that in Finland most houses are or were heated with wood burning masonry stoves. I would like to obtain a drawing showing how one can be built.

Maarten, have you done an internet search? There is an on-line site with plans you can print off.

Do you know what site that is? I, too, am looking for plans (but appearently too lazy to do it myself. LOL!)

Maarten, sounds like you want to build one from scratch instead of using a kit. I don't have any information to contribute on that one, however if you decide to use a kit I can recommend the Temp-cast folks. They're not cheap, that's for sure, but they give you all the help you need, they return phone calls and are very supportive.

No doubt some of the other manufacturers are also excellent, we just ended up with a Temp-cast and it performs beautifully. IF you can squeeze it into your budget, I'd highly recommend going with the bake- oven option too, we love ours.
