greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Okay I've been lurking around again and came across a message about making catsup out of tomato paste does anyone have a recipe ? I don't like having to take the empty bottles to town to the recycling center. If anyone has a recipe for this would you please share it with me.

thanks

Well, This is a bizarre coincidence! We ran out of catsup yesterday, and I had to whip some up at the last minute. No complaints from the kids, so I guess it turned out okay. : ) Here's the recipe: 5 1/2 oz. Tomato paste 1/4 tsp. dry mustard 1/4 c. packed brown sugar 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. water 1 pinch gr. cloves 2 T cider vinegar 1 pinch allspice Mix all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Put in covered container in refrigerator and store for up to one month. (Makes about 1 cup) Enjoy!
