Just noticed a crack in my Earth Stove woodburner. It's a little fissure about two inches long at the top of the door. Do any of you folks know if it would be safe to use B.J. Weld on it? Thanks, Brian

I wouldnt use JP weld on it, but there's a fairly inexpensive product that you can find in wood stove/fireplace stores thats used to fix cracks and the like, its a black paste that you put on and after you fire the stove it cures into something extremely hard and heat proof, I cant remember the name of it but I remember looking at a tube of it at a store once and thinking "now that'd be pretty handy to have around".

Stove Cement.....even the stuff one uses to stick the rope back in an air-tight stove will work, or you might take the door off and have it brazed or welded.

If you have J.B. Weld, I would try it. Paul Harvey says it fixes anything.Ihave used it for several things and had success with it.If possible, try to rough up the area with a file or sandpaper and be sure it's clean and dry.
