4x5 APX 100 or FP4+, which is sharper?

With the demise of APX 25 (120) I'm forced to move to 4x5.

Which film is the sharpest and has the greatest contrast range in Xtol?

My experience is that Xtol 1:3 and FP4+ are an exceptional combination. APX100 doesn't do well in more dilute concetrations of Xtol although it performs well at 1:1. With APX I have returned to Rodinal with dilutions of 1:50 developed for 12 minutes at 68. Hope this helps. Check out the Darkroom Cookbook.

Everyone should do themselves a favor and try TETENAL's Ultrafin film developer!!! After doing several diferent DENSITY THRESHOLD TEST(s) with various films I have been amazed by the results. I am not a "Tech-Head" by any means--I just want a film and developer combination that gives me extreme sharpness and luscious tonal-range. TETENAL ULTRAFIN is the definitive developer when you are processing either by hand or with rotary such I do with a ATL-1000. I hope this product is available for years to come!!!
