Why not film in U.S.A.? In a U.S. junkyard with U.S. junk?

If you read the Junkyard Wars website. It tells you that they are going to be filming in California in the spring of 2001.

I live in Hollywood California and know a bit about filming. As for filming in LA, getting insurance would be a problem for the show. This is true for most of the US. Aparently insurance is cheeper or easier in the UK.

I don't think that the shows with american teams (and the host) are as good as the all English ones
