Rodenstock Geronar 300mm f9

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Large format photography : One Thread

I have finally decided to take the plunge and get a 300mm lens for my 4X5. My first choice is the Nikon M f9. Plan A is to patiently wait for one in excellent plus shape to come up used. However, there are several Rodenstock Geronars(300m f9) for sale on E-bay that seem to be reasonably priced. I have found little info on this site for this lens other than the image circle. Can anyone point me to some lens testing data or provide me with your personal experience with this lens. I believe it comes in a Copal 1 shutter. Thanks.

Sorry. There is a thread or two on this lens. I just missed them with my first scan of the archives. I still would value any comments on your experience with this lens.

I have owned three geronars the 90, 150, and 210. I have loved them! They are great and affordable. I even own canon L lens's. Go for it in fact the geronar has more coverage than the nikkon f9!
