Nursing Home Evacuated

Volunteers used flashlights and wheelchairs to evacuate nearly 100 residents from a Red Deer, Alberta nursing home in the middle of the night, after a water main broke, flooding the building's basement and causing a power outage. It took 40 minutes to evacuate 98 people. The elderly residents were taken to a school until they could return Sunday night. Staff didn't discover the flood until the water reached the building's dining and recreation areas.
