Friday January 5 6:16 PM ET Norway Airliner Lands After Fire AlertOSLO (Reuters) - An airliner on a domestic flight in Norway with 19 people aboard landed safely in the west coast city of Bergen after a fault with its instruments triggered a fire scare, a spokesman said on Saturday.
``The plane landed safely a few minutes ago,'' Frode Geitvik, spokesman for Norwegian airline Braathens, told Reuters. The Boeing 737 jet had 19 passengers and crew aboard.
Geitvik said a faulty instrument in the cockpit had wrongly indicated a fire. ``There was no fire,'' he said.
The plane landed in Bergen after a flight from Oslo. Fire fighters and police went on full alert ahead of the landing. http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20010105/wl/norway_plane_dc_2.html
