Whatever happened to..............

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unk's Wild Wild West : One Thread

Andy Warhol's declaration that "everone will have 15 minutes of fame" will outlast his pop-art. Every now and then I think of someone who was famous (maybe for even more than 15 minutes) but they have long since dropped off the news and all I can do is muse "what ever happened to.........."

I ask who you wonder about and if anyone has any information? Formerly famous athletes, entertainers, politicians, criminals, celebrities of all stripes? Off the top of my head I wonder what ever happened to Mike Dukakis, Tiny Tim, M.C. Hammer, Linda Evans, Michael Jackson, Mikhail Gorbachev, etc, etc?

Any others?

Lars, Tiny Tim died not long ago, maybe 1 1/2 years ago?

M. C. Hammers career died....

Who is Linda Evans?

Gorbachev is hanging out in California at the Western Whitehouse. (What's up with that?)

The Gloved One is laying low... (here's an oldy but goody): How do you know Elvis is dead?

Answer: Because Michael Jackson is still alive....

Michael Dukakis has been teaching political science and other courses at several universities.

Tiny Tim died November 30, 1996.

Mikhail Gorbachev has a Web site at http://www. gci.ch/GreenCrossFamily/gorby/gorby.html

(Google Search, my favorite, found this info and undoubtedly could do the same for anyone else you're wondering about.)

No Spam, that takes all the fun out of it.

KoFE--"who is Linda Evans"?! Good grief man, next you'll ask "who is Yanni?"

Does anyone else wonder about long forgotten celebs who might not even show up on Google?

What I really want to know is what ever happened to H.R. Puff 'n Stuff? I know his career couldn't have gone too far after his show ended, how many parts could there be for a guy with a 3-foot-diameter head?

I'd like to see him show up in a Tarantino film or something, maybe Coen brothers, something respectable.

-- Bemused (and_amazed@you.people), January 08, 2001.

Speaking of heads, speaking of Coen brothers, whaddya think---was there a head in that wrapped package at the end of "Barton Fink"?

-- Lars (larsguy@yahoo.com), January 08, 2001.

Yes. And it really did give Barton good luck, in the end, when you think about it. Just like John Goodman said it would. Conclusion: severed heads in boxes aren't always bad.

-- Bemused (and_amazed@you.people), January 09, 2001.

Bemused--

I recently saw a Coen brothers profile on Bravo channel and I think they said that they didn't know themselves if there was a head in the box.

Those guys sure like John Goodman alot.
