In Defense of New Host George

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

Granted, George is no Robert. I heard that Robert had prior commitments and was unable to do the show this season. He wasn't canned and he didn't quit. So now a new host has to come along and try to fill the shoes of someone who we all thought was the greatest. Give George a chance to settle in over the series, we might be surprised. The show is still produced by the same group in Britain so let's give them a chance to sort this out. I think they got the message. Meanwhile let's all watch and enjoy this great show.

Well if Robert has other commitments, then we only need 1 host. I would be content with that. George just ruins it.

I agree with Brandon. George ruins it. I would rather watch a season full of re-runs than see George screw up what was an enjoyable, humorous, and enthralling show. Now it sucks.

You guys are all so right George sucks so bad it would be better just to put 1 animator George is so anoyying with his "Americanized sense of humor" If they want a good challenge they might as well make a challenge to make a machine to crush goerge. Why must they ruin every thing that is good. Are we doom to only listen to re-runes, is there no hope!? US is like a pledge every thing it touches turns bad, why can't they do anything decent for once. Tim Alen would have done a better job!! Actually he would have done a perfectly good job. I just hope they can change animators. If he could recorde it and look back at it he would see how bad it was, He would be teriffied!! hahaha

With every show that airs you have to be interested in building new viewers...I watched for the first time last night and was immediately hooked...I thought the announcers were interesting but that wasn't my focus watching the show at all; I was amazed at how resourceful each team was and appreciated the comments of the experts as each project was built...embrace change or ignore it...the new viewers aren't turned off by the two people that are there solely to weave the story into a format that fits a one hour time slot...I thought they all did a great job.

I'm right up there with you Katheryn, I think the show rocks George too!!!

Odd, I heard they booted Robert because they thought we would relate to George better, coarse, crass dolts that we Americans are. Turns out, all those coarse, crass folks are watching WWF Wrestling, perhaps George should look for a job THERE!

Hey Jane....Robert could'nt do it because of previous commitments. They got a new host for the American series. 2 shows now..... with two different hosts, along with Cathy, the true stability of the show. isn't nature wonderful?

That's not what the folks at TLC say...they claim to be "rethinking" the host situation, after "misjudging" audience attachment to Robert...
