Is there a method of searching the old TB2K archives for a pattern?

Answers

use the keywords lunatic, paranoid, don't pay taxes, klinton, chemtrails and you will learn all you need to know.

Sad to say, the lack of a search engine is the biggest flaw in the Greenspun forums. There's no satisfactory answer to your question.

Hi searching. It's not a very good method, but you can go to the top of a category and then click on "edit" then "find" on your Explorer tool bar. It can also be done with Netscape, but I'm in my Explorer browser right now so I can't tell you what to use there.

This method will only search for words on the page you're on, but maybe it'll help a little.

WhereTheHeck,

Net's answer is the way I do it. But, always look in the "general" folder first.

Now you've got me wondering. What sort of a pattern are you seeking? Or are you asking about search engines?

When I want to find something, and I am clueless as to where it might be, I use GOOGLE.

Let's say I wanted to find the DD FirstLight Discussions. I would use DD FirstLight as a search term (or try DD 1stLight). It'll bring up the original soybean chat, which was quoted over at TB.

This method doesn't always work, but it beats spending hours scanning the archives.
