Is Romano Married? : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

A couple of days ago I recieved an email suggesting that I could add that Romano is married to my character bios on my website. I was rather shocked, since it is the first I had heard that Romano is married.

Apparantly, this email told me, that the episode when Romano is talking to Elizabeth about the lawsuit and "Nikki" comes in to ask if he's ready to go, this "Nikki" is his wife. Also, in the episode "How The Finch Stole Christmas" when Lucy went to persude Romano into helping Valerie Page, he said something about "not to bother him and his WIFE."

I was wondering if anyone else knows anything about all this.

sorry, can't help you there. But he is MARRIED?? who would marry Romano? (obviosly someone who is desperate).

-- er_aussie (, January 01, 2001.

I don't think Romano is married. There have been several mentions in past epis about him only having his dogs, and in the epi where he performed surgery on his dog, he said to Shirley "When you live alone ... " (I don't remember the exact words, but definitely remember he said something about it being just him and his dog).

Excuse me. I need to go laugh for a minute. Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha! Okay. I'm done laughing. Why would anyone want to marry him?

-- Cammie (, January 01, 2001.

Romano married?! Yeah right. If someone actually did marry him it would only be for his money.

-- Andie (, January 01, 2001.

Funny you should mention that... I did notice that Romano now wears a wedding band (I think since the beginning of the current season). I doubt he was married before as I'm sure Elizabeth would have said something about it when he asked her out. It could also be that the actor just forgot to remove his wedding band (I noticed in a recent episode of Frasier that Kelsey Grammer had his on!). Either way I'm sure no one mentioned anything about Romano recently getting hitched!

Playing Devil's Advocate for a moment: Not only is he a doctor (a surgeon, no less), with money, but he's Chief of Staff at a big ol' hospital. He may be short, bald, and a pain in the ass to his co-workers, but he's a powerful little man. Lots of women are attracted to that, regardless of follicles. And who knows, in his private life he may be quite good to his loved ones. (We all remember the dog, right? The way he cooed over his beloved pet was downright cute, albeit a shock to the rest of the universe.)

Anyway, we saw him heading out on a date with a blonde bombshell recently--I'd think that if he'd gone and gotten married, especially to a trophy such as she, he'd have done a little bragging. But hey, we just don't know.

-- Cecelia (, January 01, 2001.

Regarding the original question: Could we clarify- he actually said "wife" in How the Finch Stole Christmas? Or someone said they *thought* he said "wife"? Anyone watched the episode recently? Anyone have a tape? I don't remember any reference to him being married. I'm afraid I have to agree with Cecelia, *someone* might find him appealing and marry him! But if it was mentioned, I missed it. I thought the blonde bombshell was just a girlfriend.

I could swear I read something about the actor getting married "recently" (but I dont know what they meant by "recently") and wearing his ring, but Im not sure if this is just a continuity problem or if we are expected to assume hes married.

From what I could find, Paul McCrane (Romano) has been married since 1998, and his wife gave birth to their first child (a son) last October. His height was also mentioned... I was surprised to find out he's 5'8"!

-- Christine (, January 02, 2001.

5'8'' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!You're joking!! I thought he was about 5'2'' Woah.............What do the rest of the cast do? Stand on boxes?! He looks so tiny compaired to the others.....

-- Chaz (, January 02, 2001.

Aren't Edwards, Wyle, and LaSalle all over 6'? That must be why McCrane seems so short! :-)

-- Maureen S. (, January 02, 2001.

I`m not sure, but I read somewhere (on different sources) that they were 62"...but I`m not sure and since they have different frames, they dont look the same height. LaSalle looks heavier (not fat, but with more "mass" or muscle or whatever) and somewhat bigger. McCrame himself looks very strong, like he worked out some. I dont know about Malucci (forgot the actors name, sorry), but I think that on "People`s 50 most beautiful people" they said that Goran was 6'4".

-- jules (, January 02, 2001.

Duh...sorry, my "them" I meant AE, NW and LaSalle

This has turned more into a question on Romano's height more than his marital status, but oh well, here goes.

I can see him looking short at 5'8" if all the other male actors are well over 6', but isn't he even shorter than Lizzie? Seems like I've seen scenes where she stares down at him. She'd have to be a pretty tall woman to be able to stare down at him, but I guess she must be.

Don't know if he's married, but I do think he'd be able to find a woman to marry if he wanted to. Wierder things have happened. Even on ER.

-- Chris Moraes (, April 17, 2001.

Elizabeth might look taller in heels.

-- maureen (, April 24, 2001.

No, Dr. Romano is not married.

-- Bobbe (, April 27, 2001.

Jus an observation: Whe Luka and Kerry walk down the hall side by side talking, it makes Kerry look so short. Luka must be really tall.

-- Teddy (, July 20, 2001.

Being only 5'3", Romano looks plenty tall to me. *G* Cecelia is correct when she says some may find him attractive; in fact I find him downright intoxicating, and so HOT!!! I can't help it, I love the bad boys. *G*

To answer the original question, no, Romano isn't married. Paul McCrane married in 1998 to jewelry designer, Dana Kellin. They had a son last October, named William Thomas. I think Paul is very sweet & romantic (very unlike his alter-ego), and I'm very happy for him. A bit jealous, but happy. ;~)

-- Rhonda (, August 10, 2001.

No, Paul McCrane is not 5'8". I'm 5'6". I've seen him in person and he's around 5'5", tops.
