What happens to the inventions?

No one answered this question last time it was asked. I had emailed a couple people asking this same question but got no response. What happens to the inventions? Do the teams get to keep them?

DP (Jeff) mentioned cutting off a hunk of a machine to hang on his wall. That's all I know. My guess is they just put the machines back in the junkyard.

Steve-

In our local paper, (I think I mentioned we have a local team that will be on in January, The Metal Medics) there was a write up in the paper when they went to London to compete in August or September. At the end of the article, it says, "The winning boat, which can be seen when the series airs on The Learning Channel in January, will go on tour around the country, while the losing team's boat will go back to the scrapheap." I'm not sure which country they mean though... they did film in England... sooo, I'm assuming they wouldn't ship the thing over here...

during the drag-racer episode, i believe one of the teams was gonna use part of the bike-powered bridge-machine from a previous episode. i guess other than souveneirs, the rest is junked back into the heap...

Some go back to the heap (we used parts of the sub when building the fireboat. Couldn't find the prop unfortunately). The larger ones (like the fireboat) tend to get junked "in place". A few get claimed by their builders. Nosher has their walking machine, and Adrian (the beach boys expert in the steam race) bought the two steam cars.

Adrian buys and sells old steam engines. The cars are currently display peices at steam shows. If you have a spare 6,500 pounds You could own frobette. (price includes crating, and shipping to the east coast)
