Printing to different materials

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Printing & Finishing : One Thread

As a special gift idea for some close friends of mine, I was thinking I would print one (or more) photos for them onto differnet materials (some interesting textured fabrics perhaps) just for something a little different. I'm sure this can be done, but have not been able to find any tips or instructions. Perhaps someone has tried this or knows where this information might be found? Are there light sensitive fabrics that can be purchased or is it necessary to treat material with some solution (which can be purchased) myself? Any suggestions or ideas would be of great assistance. Thanks, Susan :o)

There are a couple of liquid emulsions that you can coat on just about everything. I remember one that is designed for fabric use.

A source would be Porter's (www.porters.com).

Susan, also there is some stuff you can get a quilt/fabric stores that lets you transfer prints unto fabric.
