-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Heh...reminds of a Discover Card commercial running over here this week. Starts like an infomercial selling the Purse-boot to stop the wife/girfriend from spending, the Teen-boot put on your wallet/purse with alarm that goes off when your teen tries to sneak in, and the Wallet-boot to put on your husband/boyfriend's wallet to stop him spending all the money at the bar.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Hi gang. Just checked to hear Derby put one past the post.
C'mon lads, we need something today.
Sounds like Given's struggling with an ankle injury.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Uh-oh..sounds like Given may be crocked

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

we've got to sit on the ball and just hang on to it for a five/ten minutes and calm things down a bit.

HOWAY LADS......

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Can I change my prediction? not sounding too convincing are we.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Nope, but we will come good

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

The Toon Army never cease to amaze me - yet again, it sounds like a home game.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Howay Rik - Faith, man - it's the festive season after all....

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

FK just outside the PA, taken by YKD - comes to nothing.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

What was that Sunderland scored?

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

No, just a bad dream....

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Aye, Hutchinson they said.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Good block by my Hero. Hope he's not injured.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Is anyone elses webcast breaking up?!?

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Rik we beleive in Marcel !!!!!!!!

Hell be great !

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Good block by Marcy saves a possible goal - he's down injured! Corner's taken so must be OK. Goal kick.
YKD header just over the bar by YKD from FK. Grazed the bar!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Hey Clarky, you are about a minute ahead of me with the webcast.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Mine's coming in loud and clear, Galaxy. :-)

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

no problems here Galaxy.

Marcy:

"Then I saw him play, now i'm a believer, not a trace, of elastoplasts now...."

LOL Gus, that was bliddy funny

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Was the Arsenal / Liverpool game on the TV earlier on? Just seen the score 4 - 0 .

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

I'm listening to Radio Metro Pete - perhaps there's a delay on the webcast.
Toon Army in full voice again. Bassedas flattened by Rigett - no FK given. Acuna caught late - no FK given. Usual standard of refereeing!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Thanks PiC,

I am generally good for one a day.

Thats what Mrs gus says anyway!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

I WENT TO BLAYDON RACES, TWAS ON THE 9TH JUNE.......

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Haway the lairds

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Yes Rik the game was on - KO at 11:30am. It wasn't a great game - much like the Liverpool v Manure game. Pool just sat back and hit them on the break. Arsenal had 70% of possesion but did little with it. Pool were never 4 goals better, but it's goals that count.
Very prophetic - Carbonari scores for Derby. Bugger, bugger, bugger!

COME ON BOYS - GET ONE BACK BEFORE HALF TIME!!!! HOWAY THE LADS!!!

BTW Gus - I`m good - how are you? (:o)

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Sounded as though a weak defensive header from Barton contributed to their goal.
Rob Lee getting upset with Powell who apparently is kicking the cr@p out of Acuna. Bassedas clattered from behind by Christie. Tough game!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

All these heavy tackles are bound to take thier toll.

Who do you reckon will get injured first?

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

I'm not enjoying this game. think I'll get pissed.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Shay's already struggling. Who on the pitch are we most in need of for the next 2 games...that's probably who'll get injured.

CMON LADS!!!! FIGHT!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Are we to assume that this third injection has fixed Shearer`s problem? Let`s hope he doesn`t get clattered too! (:o|

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

TOON! TOON!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Jim's done his homework - without Speed, an even more lightweight midfield, get the tackles in early, hard, hassle them, push them back, panic them into making a mistake and see what happens..... Derby 1 nil up. Sadly predictable. Whether our reaction is remains to be seen...Should've sat on the ball and passed it around simply...tire them out.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

BLACK AND WHITE ARMY!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Rob Lee seems to be having an immense game. Marcy doing OK.
YKD shot deflected just over the bar. Corner - cleared.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Not too bright Galaxcy,

Terrible week at work.

Bought Mrs gus a new car today. Went to watch Perth Glory lose 1-0, then this!!!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

AN N AND AN E AND A WUBBLE U C......

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Will the work situation improve Gus? Is it a temporary glitch? (:o)

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Half time,I'm off to wash my dog.

Things, can only get better .............

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

gus, did you see the goal Auckland Kingz conceded?...dreadful....

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Lee booked - that's all we bloody need, considering Powell's kicking anything that moves.

HT. WEll, things to do - catch you all later, hopefully to discuss a victory!!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

HT. Ciara, get the torch out......

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Bliddy well hope so!

Had to get some search and seizeure warrants written and sworn within a deadline, the computer ate them 3 TIMES.

Every time I tried to save them it closed the machine down. Switched machines and same thing.

Eventually got them done, too late to swear, now I have to go in on my day off to swear them. Then go back in at 0500 the next day, (next Thursday) also my day off, to execute the warrants.

Mrs gus is on call and has already gone back into work twice since Friday 1700!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

I hope YBR gives them lemons to suck on instead of oranges at half time. We need to be even meaner second half. We'll get that one back early and do OK from this game. 3 points coming up. I can feel it in me bones.

HOWAY THE LADS!!!!!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Time for optimism, PiC. I as just wondering: did we have a shot on goal in that half?

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Nah min, will see it the morn.

Glory had 90% possession 1st half to concede a goal which was offside.

2nd half same thing, missed open goal, no penalty given for handball, four shots in 6 seconds cleared off the line and 2 saves from keeper, header hit the cross bar. It was like watching a giant Subbuteo game.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Sorry to hear you and Mrs Gus are having such a terrible holiday week, Gus. Hope it gets better. Or the lads can at least give you a win or two or three to cheer you up!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Things will be fine after next Thursday Gal, as for the wins I will take them 1 at a time.

Howay Ciara whats to eat, I'm famished!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

arms flying everywhere, floodlight failure...? sounds like it had everything. You have to see the goal the Kingz conceded. Comic.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Toast with lashings of butter, now off to make a cheese omelette. Best part of going away for more than a few days...have to finish off the perishables before I leave. :-)

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Tino wasn't it?

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

I'm thinking this was Bobby's Plan. get out there, play hard, make the odd mistake, and then Warren, if you get a chance, knock the ball down to Carbonriariariari ten yards out so they can score. Hold them till half time, then we'll go out second half and kick ths sh!t out of them. 3-1 win for us.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Bertie Mee said to Joe Har-vey, Have you heard of the North Bank High-bury, No, says Joe, I don't think so, But I've heard of Geordie Aggro

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

HOWAY STEVIE....!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Well that's one potential Christmas present for me....Harper between the sticks! ;-)

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

with Harper on, and so many hard tackles flying in looks as though BR won't risk any tactical substitutions until very late in the game.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Bassedas did well there, with a cross. FOUR players blocking Shearers shot.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

I think I would take Lee off before he gets sent off. I would put Glass on the left.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

I might be tempted to put Cordone on for Lee, with Dyer dropping back. We need a goal SOooo much. Please score ....

Did anyone know that Jesus was actually a Geordie?

It's true!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Oh Shit, what a waste by Shearer.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

aye, the loaves were stotties and the fish were fresh from North Shields Quayside....

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

A couple of good moves by Acuna, Howay son.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

We seem to be getting a bit more control of this game.....there could be a result to be had, especially as it is only 0-1 so far.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Sounds like we're in a good patch. Acuna and Bassedas making some nice passes

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Another good save by Harper, Hope he's in for the rest of the xmas games.

Good job we`ve got two nice easy games after this one! {:o[

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

What's everyone getting for xmas?

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

The upside of this is that with our record of not managing successive wins, this means we should draw or win on Tuesday. Probably.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

two down and the Toon army are still in top voice.....do you reckon they are directly below the commentary point, or just bliddy loud.?

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

As predicted, Lee off for Cordone, but Lee's got a hamstring injury, Merry Xmas?

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

ooops...Lee...hamstring....think I'll go finish off those 6 perishable bottles of Broon and 2 Amstels sitting in my fridge :-(

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Who was it? Acuna or Lee?

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

we are going to get trounced in the next couple of games. we can't even compete with Derby fer chrissake. shambles. AGAIN.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Oh dear me - second goal against the run of play in the 2nd half.
Rob Lee's off with a hmstring injury just to complete the picture.
Oh well, as Gal says at least we've got two straightforward home games to come, so we'll just have to settle for 6 points for Xmas!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Oh Lord have we not been here before? Players dropping like flies? We could just occasionally do with a bit of good luck. (:o|

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

No time to feel sorry for yersells, BR has to get them over it SAP and get them ready for the game against Leeds.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

get down on yer knees and pray......

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Acuna seems to be struggling with what looks like it could a hamstring, and Bassedas has just been nailed, yet again. Seems OK though.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

I`d be whipping Shearer off now, before someone goes in with a two footed tackle on his knee!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

So another round of supporter slagging to get the players fired up for the next 2 games, then?

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Nee subs left Galaxy, Harper, Glass and Cordone all off the bench

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Min.....it's a lot closer a link than Stotties and North Shields fish.....Jesus is known as the New Born King.....and Newborn is just beside Throckley!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

I know Dyer has scored a few goals but wouldn't he be better playing instead of Lee in the next game, with the big lad Ameobi upfront? With Glass and Solano on the wings and Acuna in the middle with Speed? A back four of Griff, Hughes, Marca and Barton and Harper in goal.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Good point Pete! Pity it`s not Champo - you can cheat in that!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Thing is...it sounds like we haven't actually played that badly. Just getting lumps kicked out of us with the ref doing nothing about it. :-/

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Quote from Mick Martin "Newcastle just haven't been able to compete physically against Derby".
Well bugger me, how on earth have got to this point?

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Oh hang on thats twelve players.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Galaxy, those fantasy's of yours involving whips have no place here.......

My prediction of 3-2 to the Toon is still on......I know, wishful thinking but them rose tinted glasses do that for you.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

They also brought up the old chestnut of "they wanted it more than us". *sigh*

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

I`m not going to slate the lads - BUT I am really sick of hearing the commentators saying it was down to who wanted it the most! (:o|

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

We'll all sing no matter how bad or good we are. When we can't compete physically with teams, in the EPL, you're going to get beat. when you can;'t match the top teams for skill, you're going to get beat. It's the inability to grind out a result against mediocre teams that's costing us dearly. We're simply not very good. But we live to fight another day.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

ITK - well it is Christmas!!! Fetch me those manacles!!!! Teehee!!!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

don't let this spoil our xmas, we only lose one place, and after we beat Leeds on Boxing day we'll have a great Xmas party

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Here they are Galaxy....8.....use them carefully.....

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

see what's it's done to Galaxy! Shocking.

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

.....well actually - some of them live to fight another day! Acuna appears to have real problem, and must also now be doubtful for Tuesday.
At this rate, Micheal Chopra could be in the team by New Years Day!

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

Dyer struggling too - going to be a block booking at Newcastle Infirmary tonight!!!(:o|

-- Anonymous, December 23, 2000

0-2. Not a very nice Christmas present. Bunch of little boys against a set of hardworkers with a monster or two.

Dyer knacked too. This is nearly becoming comical.

perhaps I should change my team pick for Leeds back to the coaching/kit/tea staff.

Bliddy inevitable wasn't it.......as the song say....where do we go from here

At least that should make Tuesday a good game between 2 teams eager to prove something. Or cr@p because both sides are too exhausted to move. hmmmmm.

Strawberry at 1pm? Bring your loudest singing voices! I plan on enjoying the day no matter what happens on the pitch.

"The players have nothing to be ashamed of - they gave their all" - so says Mick Martin after we lose 2-0 to Derby bloody County. I suppose we're expected to be happy they kept the score down, and now look forward to prospect of playing Leeds and manure without all those presently injured plus possibly Given, Lee, Acuna, and Dyer and only Gary Speed certain to come back in.
The chickens could be about to really come home to roost for our bone-headed inactivity in the transfer market.

Merry bloody Xmas!
