Elan II washout

I could use some advise on getting a crystal clear B/W shot it seems as though the flash on my elanII doesnt work for B/W .any suggestions? Randy

Although I do not know enough about the ElanII to make an infomative comment, I will say this (before some one jumps on my case, that is) You should have gone with a Nikon ;-) but I am sure someone here will be helpful.

I would guess that the camera's flash is not pwoerful enough for what you're trying to do. Have you taken colour shots in similar circumstances? and were they ok? Do your B&W shots in natural light look ok? What film, developer, delevopment method, method of printing, etc? Lot's of questions, but more info is required.

Though I maybe should have more experience with b&w photography, I feel obliged to tell that the last suite of portraits I took using Kodak CN400 with my Elan's built-in flash went beautiful. I was outdoors, but the flash really worked, since it was pretty early in the morning and light was minimal. Just my two cents.
