While out drivin awhile ago, went past a mans house that I've known a long time. He sells used car parts and is less than scrupelous--shall we say. Well anyhow, he's not of large or tall stature being about 4 1/2 feet tall. He was wearin an orange hunters jacket. Goin inside his shop, wadin the snow and slush, I was almost overcome by humor. My old hillbilly brain just spouted the thought forth --I'll bet he's wearin that orange so people can find'm if'n he gets stuck or lost in 5" of snow! Now, I know that ain't very nice but then again it DID seem to be funny at the time. Spose I've done and made some small people mad but then again they might say something about me bein so tall that I have permanant knots on my old haid frum rundin into low tree limbs and aircraft! Be good to your neighbors--even if they ain't 5 feet tall! Luke 6:31

Hey, Hoot, we all have goofy thoughts sometimes.

I personally believe short people should wear bright colors. I have a "fishing jacket" that went through all of my kids when they were little. It was electric neon pink otherwise known as salmon egg pink. They also had a long leash hooked to the beltloop of their jeans. I figured if they were going to fall into the river, they might as well attract some big fish instead of scaring them away. Of course, I told them if they fell in they were bait. The leash was to make sure I didn't lose the big fish that were after that pretty jacket. Ya know, not a one of my kids ever fell in the water.

Hey Hoot, that was a real hoot. You have such great timing my sister is in for christmas and she stand about the same height, and of all the things it started snowing here about 3 hrs ago. When I read this I was on the floor. I guess I know now what to get my sister for Christmas. God Bless.

I'm short and after all these years I guess I'm just used to it. It has it's positive moments - probably would never have learned to climb as well as I do, and of course now I get my son's hand me downs. I'm waiting on a beautiful leather jacket he got a couple of years ago, he'll outgrow it any day now. I've never gotten lost in the snow (live too far south) but I have been lost in the Wal-Mart a few times!!!

It would be awfully small of them to be insulted by a simple observation...but then there's some mighty low down people in this world.

Linda, be careful what you wish for. I bought my son a really nice pair of boots when his feet grew to my shoe size at age 14. Wouldn't ya know it! His feet stopped growing immediatly and I never got the boots I had really bought for myself. ;-(>>>
