How to never ever have a cold, flue or chest cold again!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unk's Wild Wild West : One Thread

Dear friends. We all have heard of the millions of people who died in Europe during the fourteenth century from the bubonic plaque. There was one group of people during that time that were not affected by the bubonic plaque and none of them died. That group of people were the Nobility that were wealthy and lived in castles.

What saved them was the fact that they used silver for jewelry and they used eating and drinking utinsels. Silver is a natural antibiotic. The pioneers put silver dollars in their milk and drinking water to keep it pure. I learned about this fact on the internet.

Two and a half years ago we decided to make use of silver in our life. I bought a silver neclace chain and a bracelet. I put 20 one ounce silver rounds in our drinking water container in the refrigerator. Cost about $100.

As a result we have not had a cold, flue, sore throat, or chest cold since then. I'm convinced the silver has protected us from disease and bacteria. In fact I believe it will protect us from many diseases in the future.

I urge you to spend a few dollars buying silver and let it protect you from disease also. We are in the process of purchasing real silverware to eat from. If I can find silver drinking glasses and eating plates, I will also purchase them. I urge you to do the same. May you also get the same positive results by using silver in your life.

Silver prices are at an all time low right now with the silver spot price at about $4.60 per ounce.

Please forward this message to all your friends and relatives and wipe out disease that is caused by micro organisms. Silver also kills parasites.

This thread was posted on Poole's Roost. Ingesting silver leads to agyria, a nasty little condition where ones skin is PERMANENTLY COLORED GREY. Colloidal silver not only isn't a health suplement, it's actually dangerous.

QUESTIONS REGARDING CS THAT NO ONE WILL ANSWER

1) How does CS work at the molecular level?

2) If CS solution is so good, why isn't it used to decontaminate kitchens and baths?

3) Why don't third-world countries use it? It's inexpensive

4) Again, at the molecular level, how can wearing silver have an affect on virus or bacteria? (Disregarding the Placebo Effect)

In the two years I'm been researching claims for CS, I have yet to have #1 and #4 answered with anything except pseudo-science.

Set the record straight. Debunking Colloidal Silver.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Poole's Roost II : One Thread

National burn centers use colloidal silver to prevent infection on their burn victims.

Doctors put silver drops in the eyes of new born babies.

Debunking Colloidal silver

Some articles and web sites are devoted to the debunking of all alternative, non-pharmaceutical therapies, including colloidal silver. This intentional disinformation is being promoted by pro-pharmaceutical shills who want to freighten people away from using colloidal silver. Why? Because colloidal silver works too well, and the drug companies know it! If the general public knew how wide-spectrum and incredibly effective collidal silver is, people might begin to realize that they don't need to take all those expensive pharmaceutical antibiotics, with their wonderful side effects. When you consider both human and animal consumption of antibiotics, the loss would represent billions each month!

The principle scare story used is always about Argyria, a rare blue/grey skin condition. For the past couple of years, the drug company debunkers have been dragging around a poor woman by the name of Rosemary Jacobs. Rosemary has Argyria and her skin has a slate- grey cast to it. The debunkers trot her out at press conferences and at medical conventions to demonstate what will happen to people who take collodial silver for a prolonged period of time.

For many years, Rosemary used nose drops, prescribed by her doctor, that contained colloidal silver protein. Articles written by debunkers about Rosemary's condition will discuss her use of colloidal silver and type the initials "csp" in parentheses behind the words colloidal silver only once, at the very beginning of the article. For the balance of the article, they will use the term colloidal silver repeatedly and denounce it as the cause of Rosemary's condition.

However, Rosemary's condtion was brought about by the use of a prescription drug, a protein compound that contained colloidal silver; and not colloidal silver itself. They are two entirely different things. Hydrochloric acid, for example, is something entirely different than water and table salt, yet hydrochloric acid is composed of the elements found in water and table salt. Pure colloidal silver is simply a superfine suspension of submicroscopic silver particles in water.

There is No protein, No Argyria, and No problem. The debunkers would prefer to mislead the public to believe otherwise, however. And more often than not, they succeed, because fear will win out every time over positive, affirmative stories- at least for the naive, the easily manipulated, and the uninformed.

My two and a half years of not having a cold, sore throat, flue and chest cold is absolute proof that colloidal silver is better than any antibiotic.

Those who choose to not believe and not investigate silver will just have to suffer the consequenses and get numerous illnesses which they could so easely prevent.

Ignorance is pure STUPIDITY!!!!

yep, yepper. No hard scientific facts, just stories. Certain concentrations of silver are mildly antibiotic, but take silver into the lab and test known concentrations against both gram + and gram - bacteria, and the stuff is basically useless. Placebo, I tell you. Silver is good for lining your pockets, not killing bugs.

"The pioneers put silver dollars in their milk and drinking water to keep it pure. I learned about this fact on the internet."

Silver doesn't oxidize quickly enough, nor in a great enough quantity to have a significant effect.

Further, it has been reported in more reputable sources, such as in the KA State Historical Museum, that some settlers did have this belief, but this practice died out when better ways to preserve milk were invented.

You're talking collidal silver which is a suspension of fine particles which is ingested vs. wearing jewelry. Are you saying that the skin will absorb the silver?

-- Johnn Littmann (littmannj@aol.com), December 14, 2000.

Don't ask, JL, unless you're prepared to hear some of the weirdest excuse for science I've heard in a long time, including phrases like "pure energy fields" and "silver in an energized state." Why, if it's that strong, I'd buy it so that it could walk up the hall and grade a few papers, but as MN Smith, one of the few things I agree with him about, used to pen, "The stuff is snake oil." I'll post some links after my next coffee break.

I heard that agyria is caused not by the silver itself but by any nickel present in the silver. Colloidal silver is supposed to be made with 100% pure silver.

Argyria is silver poisoning. Here's a medline search on the subject.

People have been safely using silver for approx 6000 years. Yes I'm sure there are risks in just about everything. Some people die from eating strawberries.

On the other hand, how many people have died from reaction to antibiotic (anaphylactic shock)?

-- cin (cin@cin.cin), December 14, 2000.

First off, where are you getting this "people have been using silver safely for 6,000 years" crap? Wearing silver jewelry and eating off silver plates won't put any silver into your system because silver doesn't leech as easily as other metals, like lead. The only way to get argyria is to ingest silver. The only way to ingest silver is either to swallow shavings whole (which would certainly kill you quicker than you would develop argyria) or drink a colloidal solution, which requires electricity to make.

Secondly, during most of the last 6,000 years, silver has been rather difficult to come by.

Silver is toxic to the human body, but like lead, it must build up to a point of toxicity. A little bit of lead won't kill you, but a little bit of lead taken every day will, just like a little silver taken every day will permanently discolor your skin. It is only in the last century, when colloidal solutions became popular, that we have seen argyria outside of silver miners. Silver miners, who breath silver particles, have a long and and unfortunate history of argyria.

Translation:

I've been argued into a corner, and you used a swear word, so rather than lose the discussion I'm going to just latch onto the swear and exit stage left.

For what it's worth, even if silver were in use as a medicine for a considerable period, it still wouldn't be evidence for the safety of silver. After all, arsenic, lead, and leeches were all considered very beneficial to the health and no one would dream of using them today.

We discarded silver as a medicine when people became aware of the connection between argyria and silver ingestion. Silver probably won't kill you, but I certainly wouldn't want to go through life looking like a reject from a Bauhaus concert.

[CD] I object!

[Judge] On what grounds?

[CD] Irrelevant and immaterial! The method by which these leeches were put to use medically is not at issue here. In the defendant's own words; "no one would dream of using them today".

[Judge] Objection sustained. The court finds in favor of the plaintiff and decrees that *only* CD was "right". "Z"- Please see the clerk of court regarding payment of court fees.

[sound of gavel] Court dismissed.

Why is this argument on two threads?

-- (deja@vu.am), December 15, 2000.

Z-

Every description I read of argyria mentioned that it was not terminal. Since argyria is silver poisoning, I assumed silver wouldn't kill a person. However, I found out from the EPA website that silver is toxic in large quantites taken at one time.

CD-

You're right, they do use leeches in certain medical situations. I wonder how long it will take these flim flam artists to catch on? "Our ancestors used leeches throughout human history!" "100% Organic!" "Leeches: undisputedly the most effective way to rid the body of bad humours!"
