Man, Woman Killed in Crash of Light Aircraft The Associated Press

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - A light aircraft crashed while trying to land at a small airport in dense fog, killing the man and woman aboard. The twin-engine Cessna was approaching Max Westheimer Airport when it slammed into the ground at 4:48 a.m. Sunday, said Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Wayne Beckmann.

The wreckage was discovered in a wooded area about one mile northeast of the airport in Norman, just south of Oklahoma City, Beckmann said. The names of the victims were being withheld pending notification of next of kin, he said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.
