Artic blast this weekend so be extra careful and stay warm

With all the energy problems building up over the past few months this is going to be a real test of the system. Besides after doing warnings like this for 35+ years its hard for me to resist this kind of story.

I hope everyone out there stays warm and be super careful cause this could be a bad one.

Frigid Canadian air will roll into the Plains, Northwest and Upper Midwest this weekend producing tumbling temperatures, snow, and bitterly cold windchills.

Arctic cold to blast into the U.S. this weekend (Full Report)

A significant outbreak of frigid arctic air is poised to blast into the United States over the upcoming weekend. A large dome of high pressure centered over the Northwest Territories of Canada is forecast to move southward into the U.S., forcing tumbling temperatures, dangerously cold windchills, and snow into portions of the Plains, Northwest and Upper Midwest. On Saturday this arctic plunge will begin to rear its ugly head across the Dakotas and Montana where temperatures are expected to fall through the single numbers during the afternoon. Windchills will fall below zero over this region and with snow and blowing snow also in the forecast it appears that much of the weekend will be quite miserable. On Sunday the cold air will invade portions of the Northwest, central Plains and Great Basin with more cold air and snow showers. Temperatures will remain in the teens and 20s over the interior Northwest and northern Great Basin while falling temperatures are forecast to settle southward through Colorado and Kansas. Light snow and gusty winds could produce blizzard conditions across Wyoming, western South Dakota, and the Nebraska Panhandle. Travelers to these states should be prepared for low visibility and slick roads. As the cold air oozes into the Upper Midwest on Sunday some sleet and freezing rain is forecast across Iowa, eastern Nebreaska, and Wisconsin.
