FD 135mm f2

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon FD : One Thread

I'm planning to buy an FD 135mm f2 lens. Does anyone know where I can find a brand new one? Thanks.

Nope, Canon has not made any FD lenses for close to 10 years. There may be one somewhere that hasn't ever sold, but you will probably spend a LONG time searching.

There are some very nice used ones on the market. The one I picked up was just about perfect.

Downtown Camera in Toronto has one in excellent condition for $599 Canadian. Their website is downtowncamera.com

I'll echo Terry's comment. I too recently found a very good used one, perfect except for a couple of tiny paint scrapes. The price was better than I had hoped, as well. Good luck!

$599 CDN, OUCH, I picked mine up from Henry's in Toronto about 18 months ago for $235 US (I just checked while watching one go up on eBay). And mine is in MINT condition.

They are not common, so as time goes on,the prices will rise. It is sort of funny, when the lenses were made, very few of the fast more expensive lenses sold. Now everybody wants them.
