Dot-com Layoffs Reach New High

Chicago--Despite an expected surge in holiday sales, layoffs at pure-play e-commerce companies reached a new high for November. Outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas reports that 8,789 dot-com employees lost their jobs--a 55% increase over October's 5,677 dot-com layoffs, according to "E-Commerce Times."
