audio/video synchronisation problem

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have a audio/video synchronisation problem with VideoStudio 4.0. I am capturing MPEG-1 files with VideoStudio 4.0 using VCR 2.0 compression. The result is a file where the audio and video are out of synchronisation. When I capture a file in the same way (MPEG-1, VCR 2.0) using my ATI Wondercard 32 Mb, and import it afterwards into VideoStudio, all works fine. Has anyone any idea what the reason is??

thanks

I have the same problem, the sound ends up about half a second out by the end of an hour... I capture in Avi using Premiere and the DivX Codec so the captured AVI is pretty small. I stretch the sound to fit the video and export it using Panasonic Mpeg encoder plugin. this ends up in VCD format and works perfect on the computer but when it is burnt to a VCD and played in a DVD player, it ends up being half a second out again... Can some one help me too?

I have the same problem - according to the Videowave FAQ its to do with limitations of Windows drivers - they recommend using files of under 1GB - but surely there must be a way around this

My friend told me, during capturing, the video filters eliminates bad frames and retains only good frames, while audio file is captured in full without elimination, hence the difference between the voice and the picture. He suggested to use hard disk with 7200 rpm, which can be solved to an extent. I have to try, but no money. By the way, if you find some solution, pl let me know thanks

If you use the tmpgenc encoder, you may go into the settings at the bottom of the window, choose advanced, then source range. in this window you will find an audio adjustment. I caapture with a Matrox G450etv card and find that if I set this value to -600 that the audio and video are very close. Good Luck
