Please I need some help. I am writing a paper for my eng. class on Pluto from eap works. What i need to know is where i can get more info on Pluto (the paper is due in a week) and does anyone know why eap chose to use Pluto in his works. Is there some specific reason for this. Thanks for your time.

I don't know to much about the cat Pluto and if there is any significance as to why he chose this name. I am doing a paper on the symbolism of the black cat and in what ways is it related to the EAP tale "The Black Cat". One thing I just found interesting (you may or may not know this already) but in Greek and Roman mythology Pluto was the god of the dead and the ruler of the underworld. Now this can be linked to all the study of the cat (black cat) history. Which is always linked to witchery and bad luck superstitions (although I did find some interesting beliefs of good luck related to the cat). The other thing interesting about the use of and discription of this cat in his tale is that Poe's favorite animal was the cat, and he had a black one named Catarina. Poe also had a drinking problem that caused him to rage and fear others when alcohol caused him to become violent. Both resemble the character in "The Black Cat"! My next search is going to be more info about the history of Pluto and the link and resemlance to Pluto the cat in Poe's tale. Also, I want to see if I can find any information regarding the white spot on Pluto's chest that was forming into the shape of the GALLOWS. If I find any of the above, I wouldn't mind e-mailing it to you!
