Why is is that people still read the Bible after all these years if half the stories are simply interpretations? Why do people still read Shakespeare if some of his not be original? I don't mean to answer your question with a question, but the elements that make Poe so different and appealing are the same things that make him fascinating to read. Years from now, people will still look at his work and find it a challenge to interpret it--thusly, you have sites like this. Dozens of people writing countless explications giving their take on Poe's writing. So maybe none of us will actually figure out what went on in that man's head, we will all continue, as will every other generation to analyze his work for an unattainable answer.

Dear Allison,I agree with a lot of what the other person said, but I have just one observation... and it's a pedantic one... but, hey!! What's wrong with being pedantic:
I think that you will find that "thusly" is not a word belonging to the English Langauge.
"Thusly" Sincerely,
Pragmatic_Poe
P.S.: aww shucks... I'm sowwy if I hurt the other person's feelings!!
