I Want, I Want, O, How I Want...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Hedgehog Talk : One Thread

The chances of my film being chosen for Sundance are pretty darn miniscule, but I suddenly have stopped being sensible and all I can think is how I want it anyway.

What almost completely impossible thing do you desperately want?

Oh that one is easy.

I want to go to the Kennedy Center for the American College Theatre Festival nationals in Costume Design.

Yeah.

I think you know the answer to that already. I'm priming myself to try to have a Merry Christmas no matter what, and keep my feet on the ground, etc. etc., but that damned hope keeps springing eternal.

I want them (whoever they are -- the world) to play the Triumphal March from Aida for me. Short of that, a black-tie birthday dinner at the Four Seasons with 31 of my closest friends will do -- just as impossible, and I want it just as desperately.

And a proposal of marriage.

I want to make an arts and crafts cabin for adults. As a business. You could pay ten bucks or so an hour and play with lanyards, make gods eyes, try pottery, make friendship bracelets and tye dye your underwear, do painting, anything with popsicle sticks...Its my dream. It would be a great place to take kids. No body steal it okay, its mine:) tango

*Sigh*

I want so much to be an actress and there are so few opportunities in Montreal. Lots of work as an extra if you want to do so now that the American filmmakers have caught on to how cheap it is to film here, but they bring all their actors with them, so... Sigh.

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you Kymm!

I want everything on my Amazon.com wish list.

(Count another pair of crossed fingers for you, Kymm.)

I really desperately want someone's honest opinion I trust to like my poetry & think that it is good enough to do something with in my lifetime, even if that's just to keep writing. Validation is so nice, & i've never had any I trusted... maybe that's a self-esteem thing, though. = D

Kymm, I don't think that just because you are letting your emotions about wanting to be chosen rise to the surface that you are no longer being sensible. You know the odds and you aren't fooling yourself. You’re just letting yourself feel that desire to succeed.

The most unlikely thing I want is a windfall that would allow me to get rid of my current debt so that I can go back to school. I spent most of my life not knowing what I wanted to do. Now that I know I can’t afford to drop everything and go to school to get it.

If I can’t have the windfall then I’d like to be able to step back in time. That way I could find me and take all my credit cards and start slapping myself around while screaming “STOP. STOP. STOP. YOU DUMB BASTARD.”

I want to get through the holiday season and it's ramifications to my rather complicated love life unscathed and without someone hating/beating/throwing things at me....

Oh, and a big fat powerball win would be nifty.

I want to be a museum director at the Smithsonian and make six- figures.

Um, yeah.

I want a wonderful husband and perfect children and a beautiful house.

Just in case anyone is on tenterhooks, now it turns out that I am not going to find out about Sundance until next week. The "going up on the site on the 1st" thing was a baldfaced lie, it actually goes up on the site on the 6th.

Sigh...

Just read the other entries, leaned back in my office chair and looked up at the sky. It is a cool looking early winter sky with a cold front spreading blue and orange all across. I asked mysef, "what do you want?" and the first think that popped into my head was the song, "I Wanna Be Bobby's Girl". My friends are right - I really am weird.

My friends are right - I really am weird. And, I need some better goals. By the way, has everyone heard about the surefire cure for a song running through your head? Sing the words to Gilligans Island to the tune of "Amazing Grace". Try it. It works.
