Best wishes on your new forum, Unk!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unk's Wild Wild West : One Thread

Unk, I'm sorry to have "made your day perfect" by closing up my forum like this, but I'm glad to "pass on the torch" to you, so to speak ;)

I'm sure you'll understand soon enough why I can't give the keys of TB2K Spinoff Uncensored to anyone, even you, and I'm forced to just let it die.

Good luck, don't let anyone get your goat and remain true to yourself.

(Yes, I'm using anonymizer.com because I can't trust kritter or even you, and that too you'll find out why for yourself soon enough ;) )

WWW is the place to be, folks! Great choice of name for this kind of forum. Unk is a straight shooter, even if somewhat unconventional with his offbeat sense of humor. Even when I disagreed with him (and I did a lot), I could trust his integrity.

And with this last blessing, OTFR is gone, dead and buried.

*poof!*

Unk:

When you learn why you need to set up a new forum rather than take over non-moderation of the old one, can you let us know?

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), November 28, 2000.

OTFR,

How bout posting one more thread linking this forum?

-- Carlos (riffraff@cybertime.net), November 28, 2000.

OTFR/?,

Why don't ya drop by every now and then, sit a spell and have a little converasation with us and let us know how you are doing or just to chime in and chit-chat.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), November 29, 2000.

Flint, I suspect that there might be a few posters from .gov and .mil who don't always bother to disguise their IPs, hence OTFR's reluctance to hand over the keys. Also, was anyone absolutely sure that OTFR wasn't also an employee from a three-letter agency? I've heard OTFR referred to as "Chris," but I'm not enough of an insider to know if that was true or what Chris did for a living. Not my business ... just speculating.

Another alternative for unfettered discussion (BOUND to be even wilder than the WWW!)

TELL US NOW!!!! WHY? WHAT will unc find out?

Same time same channel, details forthcoming.

OTFR doesn't want anyone to know that he was really Ed Yourdon!

-- someone who peeked (their@IP's.matched!), November 29, 2000.

I dunno, 'sumer. The kitchen is far too quiet. I'm going to have a short one and then go for gyros around the corner. They might be butchering a croc back there or something.

-- sumer (shh@aol.con), December 04, 2000.

Mmmm. Okay, I'll try your suggestion. Hopefully, no crocs were killed in the making of this meal. That's a wicked looking knife that the chief has back there, and who's that tall dude standing back in the shadows?
