Small Plane Crashes in Eastern Illinois, Kills Four The Associated Press

BISMARCK, Ill. (AP) - A small plane crashed in an eastern Illinois cornfield, killing a Wisconsin couple, their son and his fiancee. The victims were returning Monday evening from a visit to Florida and had planned a refueling stop at Vermilion County Airport, five miles south of the crash site along Illinois Route 119.

They were identified as pilot Dennis M. Kriewaldt, 50, wife Jeanette, 47, their son, Adam, 26, and his fiancee, Jacqueline Theder, 25. All were from Watertown, Wis.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.

Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were expected on Tuesday to investigate.
