Television shoppers see double

Dozens of television shoppers say they thought Christmas had come early when they received two of everything.

Customers who bought goods from shopping channel Shop promptly received them from the firm's Heywood warehouse. But soon after, the delivery man called again - with exactly the same orders, reports the Manchester Evening News.

More than 80 people got the double deliveries - amounting to thousands of pounds of goods. A computer error has been blamed for the pre-Christmas bonanza, but customers have been told to hand back the gifts.

A spokeswoman for Shop, run by Littlewoods and Granada and based in Liverpool, said: "We had a small systems problem for a couple of days. That resulted in us sending the same order out twice on many occasions.

"To my knowledge, we are having no problem collecting the goods back from anyone - though there may be some disappointed people who thought they may have got a bargain."
