SORE/LOOSERMAN To Start With Recounting the Machine Count Of The Machine Recount Of The Hand Recount Of Three Florida Counties (if any chads are left on the ballots after being chewed on by Demoocrats for 3 weeks!!)

-- Ain't Gonna Happen (Not Here, November 26, 2000.

They did win with the popular vote, or did you already forget that again????

-- the world's (, November 26, 2000.

They did win with the popular vote...

Hey dum dum, buy a vowel! The Pres. is elected by electorial votes gained by 50 seperate state elections. NOT a single national vote!

This isn't a new process. It's been around for a while. If you didn't like it why didn't you say so BEFORE and not when it's convienent!!

-- Ain't Gonna Happen (Not Here, November 26, 2000.

Funny how the Republicans wanted to do away with the electoral college until now, because it helps them cheat their way into power.

because it helps them cheat their way into power. (it's.the@hypocrisy.stupid!)

Duh! The electorial college is the current law.

and to hell with the will of the people!!!! so much for a national mandate, just as long as the republicans have power at any price, huh?

-- the world's (, November 26, 2000.

Gore won the popular vote of the votes THAT WERE COUNTED! There are approximately 1,000,000 absent ballots in the uncontested states that were not counted, and are not counted EVER, unless they will decide an election. The only way we will ever know who actually won the popular vote is by spending the tax payer's money to count these absentee ballots which are irrelevant.

The popular vote only decides elections on the state level such as local offices and senators and representatives - it has no significance in a presendential election other than to determine the electors.

Gore has now lost four times.

-- Would five loses do it? six? (, November 26, 2000.

and to hell with the will of the people!!!!

Seems to me the will of the ppl was to elect Bush. Count the states. Count the individual counties in each state. The majority went to Bush. Gore won high poplaces. Are you saying that only the heavily populated areas are the ones that can vote for president?

With the electoral college, every state gets a voice. Frankly, I think FL should hand over their electorals in future elections. Give them 1 vote. If they can't handle the business of voting they should lose the privilage of carrying 25 electorals.

I'm not even going to get into the accusations of felons voting, handing out cigarettes, coercing Haitian Democrats -- the list goes on.

One good thing, Gore's political career is over. His actions have been unbelievable, but then again Clinton has set the standard for holding the legal system in a stranglehold hasn't he? That Gore would stoop to hold the rest of the country hostage is deplorable. He's just shell shocked that he didn't win by a landslide.

My gawd -- even his home state turned their back on him. It will soon be over, but either way it goes, Gore has done unrepairable damage to the integrity of the laws the rest of us have to uphold.

The Bush crowd is prematurely crowing. Too many legal challenges lie ahead. I can't WAIT until 4,500 - 15,000 votes in Seminole County are thrown out and your guy gets his ass handed to him. In the interim, you folks ought to be REAL humble or all this shit is going to be thrown back in your face. Tread carefully....

-- TheLaw (, November 26, 2000.

Nadine, do you have any links describing the 1,000,000 absentees ballots that will never be counted? I know that Gore has no right to claim the popular vote, but I didn't know that there are that many votes left uncounted.
