In response to the last email by Seth Syre (Greg Dowhan), I'm afraid that at the moment there is no show for teens, just an adult version.

We are hpeful that one day we might be able to extend it and make a version for teenagers, but that is some way off.

I agree with u im also 13 and i also wanted to play. it sucks doesnt it?

-- jim (jimthegreat@iwon.com), November 25, 2000.

They dont let young people on the show because your age group really have not got skills required and think they know it all! Sorry to dangerous.

-- Homer Simpson (homer@go4.net), November 25, 2000.

I'm starting a team for people in Canada and USA that are between 13- 16 Im sending e-mails to anyone up to it devonhynes@hotmail.com THANKS

-- Devon Hynes (devonhynes@hotmail.com), November 25, 2000.

no skills?! I rebuilt my own moped! i work over cars! i fix computers, tv, vcrs, lawn mowers and anything else you can think of!! and I'm 12!!! I think you could call that skill! i think the kids junkyard wars show is a good idea! just think the show might not be on in 6 years! so we don't get a chance! thats not fair!

-- Jonas Quimby (Jonas184@hotmail.com), November 25, 2000.

that sucks im 13 and i help my dad build just about every thing. im advanced for my age.

-- shane turek (pikachu112_us@altavista.com), November 25, 2000.

they are having a couple of shows for people 13 and up

-- Devon Hynes (devonhynes@hotmail.com), November 26, 2000.

Is there really a show? I have formed a team already and we are planning to send our applications to both the UK show and the American version of Scrapheap Challenge. I hostly find it hard to believe that a 12 year old rebuilt a moped, but hey, I'm just the computer genius. Anyways my team has all the skills to compete with the big boys so thus is our reason for applying.

If anyone has any more information about this "Teen" version of the show, please email me. (Please I really hope that you 12-13 year olds just drop this, you really aren't mature enough. The show would look better for all of us if the age group was 16-18)

I also can't join in junkyard wars because i am only 15. I work with all sorts of equipment and just last summer i helped rebuild a diesel engine. Why don't we all get together and make our own show junkyard wars for teens, or something like that. We could adapted it so that we could compete. We could either show the adapted version to T.L.C. or try for some other station to host it. It is the only way we are going to be able to be on junkyard wars. So give me your feed back.

This is in response to {Jonas Quimby (Jonas184@hotmail.com), November 25, 2000.} Life's not fair. Get over it.

I think the Teens get the short end. I believe they should be included on a team with the older contestants. Nothing like young blood to come up with some great Ideas!!! I built some really good projects as a Teen with some direction from my Dad.

-- T-bone Prather (prathersun@aol.com), November 28, 2000.

this is in response to the guy ( or girl ) who said that the teams should be mixed with adults and teens. Oviosly you do not want little kids cutting metal with a band saw or something like that. I am 13 and would like to be on a team with adults. that is all i have to say

-- Andrew Ouverson (andrewouverson@hotmail.com), December 06, 2000.

I think they can't have youngin's on the shower for liability reasons. I'm at 18! Yay I can be on the show, mainly because I know soooo much more than a 17 year old :)

-- Cullen Vandora (pentiman@home.com), December 06, 2000.

In response to Nathan Williams "Why don't we start our own Junkyard Wars?" it's called copyright infringment and unless you are looking forward to a hefty lawsuit I wouldn't recommend it sorry.

-- Matt Sharick (cheri58@excite.com), December 07, 2000.

IT'S BECAUSE YOUR ALL BUNCH OF KIDS!

-- WONSUM.COM (TATO@TOT1.COM), December 07, 2000.

i'm 14 and i use all the tools they use just about. they say u have to be 18 that sucks. i know i would apply if i was allowed.

I am a mother of 4 boys, we all love the show. Yes I think that there should be a team for teens,is there a better way to spend time other that putting good young minds to work? Battle bots is another good brain using show. Why can there not be more brain using shows on tv?

-- Phyllis Maurer (bzybunch@ptd.net), January 03, 2001.

In all likelyhood, it's a liability issue. They probably can't get insurance for a bunch of teens running through a junkyard with oxyaceteline torches and angle grinders ;)

Cover your ass, as they say...

-- Graham Ballantyne (gballant@sfu.ca), January 04, 2001.

This is definetly bogus, what a rip-off, I am 9 1/2 and I rebuilt a 426 hemi yesterday as well as a Ford fuel injection system(not to mention a turbocharger). I also repair light aircraft (cessna etc.) on my spare time from working at lockheed-martin. I am a journeyman welder and a master machinist. I should be allowed on the SHOW!!!

Get Real Kiddies!!!

-- Jim Cairn (Nichevo13@hotmail.com), March 19, 2001.

Ok kids, none of the other adults here will tell you the truth, so it must be up to me: They won't let you play with them in JYW because you're too fast and too brave. (Oscar Wilde was right: Youth is wasted on the young.) You'd be done building in five hours and spend the afternoon playing annoyingly loud video games (that make no sense to us). You'd build something so outrageous, we'd all be tied in knots trying to figure out how you did it. In the competition, you'd be fearless because you know you're immortal. Come on, face it: Adults don't like to lose to a bunch of kids. And since adults make the rules. . . .

-- Chip Haynes (ehaynes@co.pinellas.fl.us), March 22, 2001.

HERE'S AN IDEA, ADULTS VS. TEENS. I'm 15 and i think us teens could take you adult punks. Three words: JUST BRING IT!!!!

-- mark richard brady (hehe53@hotmail.com), April 20, 2001.

Hey, I'm an adult punk! Cool! Now go away, boy, you bother me.

-- Chip Haynes (ehaynes@co.pinellas.fl.us), April 25, 2001.
