Tokina 28-70 2.6-2.8 ATX Pro II with EOS 30/Elan 7egreenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread |
I am owing EOS 30/Elan 7e and thinking about buying above mentioned Tokina's lens. Did anybody tried this combination? Does it works or not? As I know, there might be compartability problems with third- party lens and new Canon EOS body.

I have this combo with Eos50e/ElanII. It works great. By the way, Tokina now sells a new lense 28-80 with faster AF. The optical qualities of 28-70 are in my opinion No. 1.

I'm sitting here with an EOS 3 and a Tokina 28~70 F/2.8 ATX (old model-bought in 1993) and neither one likes the other. The ATX works great on the A2 and 630 bodies. This weekend I will try it on a Elan 7/7e body(s) and the 1v body. The lens is great optically, but very slow and loud in the autofocus. I will post the results later next week.
