Ben Joe Walbeehm you pussy

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

Why do you continue to delete my recordings? They were recorded at full regulation speed and without autofire. You are obviously just deleting them now to be a jerk. What is your problem?

I suspect your recordings are being deleted because you have not complied to a challenge of recording with the tournament version of mame m35tg3 which checks fully if you are cheating or not. When you record with this version, and it is legal, it will not be deleted.

Well i tried using that version and for some reason it makes my character move left just a tad every few seconds. i have no idea why, as it doesnt do this with the other versions.

I have just one question: some time ago Ben Jos told me he is NOT an editor (I always thought he was). Since he is not, why is he allowed to delete recordings? Is this site hosted by him?

-- Vaz (mrvaz@inwind.it), November 15, 2000.

If anybody here is a jerk, it is you. The first time we heard from you, you were saying you had some awesome recordings to upload. The next thing you say "who cares, just get the f***ing" site back up" in response to BeeJay's post that he and his wife had a daughter. Then you go on saying how awesome you are and that you honestly believe no one can beat your scores. Most of those scores were very obviously recorded while not adhering to the rules. In most of your posts here you are always complaining about things. You yelled in e-mail to just about every MARP editor. And you told me in e-mail that we should be proud to have you. Well, I think I can speak for the majority here that we are absolutely not proud to have you. So far, I don't think anybody on MARP thinks we gained anything by having you here. Oh, and one more thing, Mr. "Awesome". Most people who are familiar with the games you play do not think you're scores are awesome at all.

Finally, I am NOT deleting your scores to be a jerk, as much as I'd like to after your behaviour.

Ben Jos.

Yeah right, i bet. Funny how im the only one that complete Ninja Gaiden and P.O.W. on one credit, EVER! No one has even come close to my scores in those 2 games. Anyway, thats besides the point. The issue here is you deleting my recordings just because my first ones i submitted as a newbie were below speed due to trying to play while online. I didnt even know about the stupid framerate counter. So now, just because of my first submittions, you automaticaly assume my recent recordings are faulty as well. I can assure you that if you would just take look at them before deleting them you would see that you are in the wrong. What makes you think that autofire would help at all in street fighter anyway? obviously you've never played it.

OK I'm stepping in and quitting this spin before it gets out of control and I don't mind doing it.

I will look at the offended INPs, pow, powj, and some other INP (please let me know what that is), play it back, compare it to others, and play it myself, and compare THAT, and I will make a decision on the offended INPs.

Trust me - I'm a lot more neutral than a good number of people in this situation. GB9

Gameboy dont worry about the powj inp. I plan on resubmitting that one and doing better anyway. But i do want my pow and my ryukendn inp's looked at. I appreciate you wanting to help. I really have no intentions of disrupting the peace here at marp. i just want to submit recordings and compete just like everyone else. Its just that it seems as though Ben Jos Walbeehm is singleing me out and utilizing a bias when he "inspects" my inp's since he is the only one that ever deletes them.

-- Richy Cream (chris66336@juno.com), November 15, 2000.

Richy, why not make a small test recording while using win35tg3 that records this "movement" to the left you are talking about. You need not play a full game, just a few lives, perhaps we can figure out what is going on since the inp records everything including any extraneous input.

-- Chad (churritz@cts.com), November 16, 2000.

Ok, well i tried the dos version of m35tg3b and it seems to work fine. I dont know why the win version makes my character face left ever few seconds. I will submit recordings with this version until you are convinced im not cheating.

im off to have at it.

Finally have some time to respond, and I'll be blunt. You've pretty much ignored the Editors and our suggestions so far, Richy, especially since we offered to help you solve the recording problem. You've ignored the rules of this message board w/regards to politeness, and you haven't apologized for that either. What you said to BeeJay was ignorant and rude, but posting an insult in your header to Ben Jos? You are about a half step away from being kicked out of MARP, de facto.

Shape up or ship out.

Well well well... its nice of you to reiterate whats already been said a week ago. The matter has been over with and resolved. Next time, before you comment aimlessly, scroll down and read the contrib's. get with it.

-- Richy Cream (chris66336@juno.com), November 18, 2000.

I'd be more than happy to 'get with it', Mr. Cream. Congratulations. I think you're going to set a new precedent at MARP!
